Our program plays within the Southern Maryland Youth Athletic Conference (SMYAC). The season runs from August to approximately November depending on Calvert Classic team playoff qualifications. The top 4 teams in each weight division qualify for the Calvert Classic. The following organizations participate in our youth football league:

Weight divisions may be split into Senior and Junior teams. League weight classes are flag football, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 14U, and Unlimited. The “U” for each age group stands for under. Players participate in a weight class based on age (as of August 1st) and weight.
Practices:
Practices start on August 1st of the calendar year from 6pm - 8pm, location is dependent upon age group. Practices can be up to 4 times a week until school starts. Once school starts they will be up to 3 times a week. Teams may be split into Senior and Junior teams or an Even Split. The type of split will be determined by the SMYAC once all registration information regarding teams has been submitted from each organization. For these instances, players will be evaluated by Head Coaches and staff during the initial days of practice to determine placement for teams.
Football Equipment:
Equipment will be handed out during each registration date at Cove Point Park. Please see the home page for dates of physical registration. Players must return all issued equipment at the end of the season. Failure to do so will result in SBGC charging parents/guardians a replacement fee for each unreturned item.
SBGC provided Equipment:
Helmet, Shoulder pads, Practice pants, 7-piece pad sets, Game pants (not to be worn during practice), and mouth piece.
All Football Players Provide:
Cleats, Game Jersey, Game Socks, and Athletic Cup.
Weigh-ins:
Official weigh-in dates are TBD. Players should wear t-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes to weigh-ins ONLY. Players may only weigh-in three times until the mid-point of the season.
